I survived
. . . but barely.
I worked 20 hours straight (I'm being serious, 8 a.m. to 4 a.m.) on the last of the prep, the actual painting, and the cleaning up, but the bedroom is painted. Still have no electricity in there, though. Hopefully that'll get sorted out tomorrow (and that's another Stupid Tax I'm going to have to pay).
The paint store guy talked me into Benjamin Moore Aura for the accent wall on the grounds that it's self-priming and will cover just about anything (even my electric blue) in one coat, so I gave it a try. I HIGHLY recommend it! It's expensive, but it actually worked out to cost less in the long run because I didn't have to buy primer. I don't think I could have handled another coat anyway - I'm physically tapped out.
I made plenty of mistakes, but I know better what to do for the rest of the apartment, and that helps. It's not perfect, but it's pretty good. . . and for me, that's good enough.
PS. How do you get paint out of hair?

6 retorts. What say you?
Congratulations!! Now beware of migraines while the stuff dries. I hope you have a nicely ventilated place to sleep in.
Re the paint and the hair: I absolutely hate to tell you this, but I have never discovered any method other than the next haircut. Which is reasonably straightforward if you have a clipper cut like me, but I understand that's not your situation. Now don't shoot the messenger! :-)
Hope someone else can help!
Eucalyptus oil will get paint off hair.
But make sure you keep it away from your mouth and eyes, and wash your hands thoroughly after use.
For removing latex paint, rubbing alcohol works miracles. Not only on skin/hair (a little on a cotton ball) but on any place you got paint that you would not have wanted to get paint. I was using goo-gone for one of my painting projects where I got paint on my woodwork and accidentally discovered this use for rubbing alcohol!

Thanks, folks - much appreciated. The paint mostly came out after the first couple of showers, although I groomed like a chimp today at work after one of my colleagues pointed out some nice white streaks I had missed.
I'm starting the next stage of painting on Thursday, so I'll be sure to tie a bandanna on and have rubbing alcohol on hand!
Best of luck! :)
The best way to get paint out is to not get it in! (Not helpful, I know) Generally, if I'm painting a ceiling or doing any messy techniques, I tie my hair up in a kerchief.
